Hi to all you Burjs out there.
In January, I did a high resolution photograph of the Burj Dubai as a first "quick" test of doing such photographs here in the Emirates. I'm not totally satisfied with the result, but it's not that bad either, so I'll share it with you!
I hope you enjoy it. I can't await the next winter season (cleaner air), to do shots at even much higher resolutions and better daytime/lighting.
As I'm a new user, I'm not allowed to post a preview image and/or link here, so you'll have to visit the "fürstleur photography" site, linked in my signature.
Caution: The large (26MB) image may crash some systems! I suggest to download (Right click) the image and view with an image viewer like ACDSee or IrvanView. A note to Mac users: Safari 3 on Leopard works fine! _________________ fürstleur photography & zypo|solutionz

Thank you for the kudos and the link to the photos of Josh, great views! I'm a little unlucky about the position from which I took the shot. But back in january, the location was very new to me, as I just came to Dubai end of december.
Just link them directly. No problem with the traffic, it's on a 100Mbit uplink flat and will, together with a server upgrade, switch to Gbit soon. _________________ fürstleur photography & zypo|solutionz |

Thank you very much burj, just noticed that you included it on the front page. You're free to generate thumbnails, just in case you're in doubt. _________________ fürstleur photography & zypo|solutionz |

Thank you! I might make thumbnails for them later, for now they have links on the photos page. Btw, how is your server? |

Oh, he's fine and happy that he has a little to do now (8GB in the last hours). But he would like to moan some time in the future soon! Maybe he will with the Bahrain World Trade Center, currently in the last stage of post processing.
BTW, I had to edit the post, it's "only" 120 megapixels, because I forgot, that I scaled down the large version a little before uploading it. The original was really 8600x25000 which would be 210 megapixels, so by rule of thumb I approximated 160 megapixels for the actual image without border.
Bad inattention. Maybe my mind was already with the 500+ megapixel shot of the Bahrain WTC. lol _________________ fürstleur photography & zypo|solutionz |

250 megapixels... OMG! That's unbelievable!! Your equipment must cost a fortune. Too bad for me... I need to be happy with my 5 megapixel camera... _________________

It's not related to Burj Dubai, but as I had mentioned this one, and I thought you might be interested, I want to let you know, that I now finished my Bahrain World Trade Center (WTC) shot, which is 500+ MP. To be exact, it's 576 MP (32000x18000 without the border!).
The large version is .tif, because at such resolutions, JPG starts struggling and would also have destroyed the gradient of the sky if not 100% quality, and then the difference in filesize was not much. So, enjoy real lossless compressed quality.
Hope you enjoy.
Btw, it was not completely finished until then, so the front was still dirty and full of dust. I think I'll do it again one day, when it's finally finished and clean!
And of course, after the summer, when the view is clear again with nice sky, I'll do a GREAT Burj Dubai Shot. _________________ fürstleur photography & zypo|solutionz |

Now this is killing my computer Never seen such resolution in my life. I was struggling to open the small version, let alone the high one! I can't wait for the end of the summer I will also be in Dubai at around November. |
