Hello to all skyscraper fans from all over the world,
I´m planing to visit Dubai at my 42nd birtday on oct. 16th in 2009.
How´s my chance the Burj Dubai is open to visitors at that day?
Will there be a visitors platform on top of the building?
If yes - in fresh air?
Thanx for answering and kind regards from Germany
Alex

Guten Tag!
Burj Dubai should be opened by that time, if there are no any further delays. The observation deck is on the 123rd and 124th floors, and they are both indoor and outdoor, so fresh air as well yes. Around 440 meters above ground level. |

| I'm sure there will be, but we don't know how much yet, as it is not opened. |

| Yes, it has been changed to Dec 2, but this is also only partial completion, full completion is expected somewhere in 2010. |

| That is right, although I wouldn't be surprised if there were more delays. Let's also not forget that this is only the soft opening, which they somehow don't want to mention in the press. Full completion is expected much later. |

| What's the difference between the soft and the 'normal' opening then? |

According to Ray Fleury these parts will be opened in "soft opening" or phase 1.:
- Landscaping on all 3 podiums
- Pool annex
- Hotel entrance and lobby
- Residence entrance and lobby
- Observatory elevator lobby
- Armani hotel - levels 5 to 8 and 38, 39
- Armani hotel residences - levels 9 to 16
- Hotel residences - levels 19 to 37
- Observation level - level 124
Question marks:
- Some levels of the office annex
- Some or all levels of residential (some almost surely) - levels 43 to 72
- Some levels of luxury residential - levels 76 and 78 to 108
- Some levels of boutique office - levels 112 to 121, 123, 125 to 135, 139 to 154
All the rest will be finished at an unknown date. |

I have read through your thread of information for visitors to Burj Dubai.
I am interested in coordinating a visit by 26 EMBAs and faculty. Who is the best person to contact and what is the fee? The group will be there the week of January 4th. |

| Tish, you may want to contact the developer Emaar (www.emaar.com), although please double check before your trip whether Burj Dubai will really open or not. This last delay has not been the first one, and it might not be the last one either. As you can see on our latest photos of the visit to the Burj Dubai, both the Observation Deck and the entrance Lobby are still long way to be completed. You will definitely read if there is any further delay on this website, just do not trust the "official" information that the various news sites are writing, they are just copy-pasting the press information by Emaar, which we have seen was false many times in the past. |

Some open and some dont. What are the exact file extensions of the ones that open? JPEG or JPG?
What is the program that they do open in? All you may have to do is enter the viewers options and re-associate those extensions that are no longer opening. |
